Christmas Carol at the Citadel

Thanks to Global Edmonton Television, we were one of five lucky families who won the Christmas Traditions Prize Pack consisting of supper at East Bound Bistro, tickets to a perfomance of Christmas Carol at Citadel Theatre and a Candle-Lit Floral Centerpiece from Bunches.  Suffice it to say, it was incredible!!!  We were so blessed to have this opportunity!  Never before have we taken in a theatre production as a family (Kent and Shawn were out of town and we missed them!), immediately preceded by a delicious supper downtown (East Bound Bistro is located on site at Citadel Theatre).  Following are some photos from the evening.
Waiting for the doors to open for the production.  Why is it so difficult to get everyone to smile together to record this occasion?  If they're not goofing around, they're not smiling, or between grins.....
Interesting sculpture in the inner gardens at the Citadel Theatre, name and artist unknown
This waterfall, which is about two stories high, is just outside the MacLab Theatre at the Citadel.  This is the theatre where Christmas Carol was showing.  We waited nearby for the doors to open prior to the beginning of the production.

At East Bound Bistro, enjoying eachother's company and good food

The set for Christmas Carol was magnificent!  Photo taken prior to the show.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Decking the Halls.....

We' ve been busy here, decking the halls, putting up the tree, shovelling....  Just started the Christmas baking.  S comes home for Christmas, flying from Vancouver!  Can't wait.  Hope all is well with everyone out there, whereever you are.  As you make your preparations for Christmas, I hope you'll remember the reason for the Season, keeping Christ in Christmas.
What are some of your Christmas traditions?  Do you set out stockings?  Set up or act out the nativity?  Open gifts Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?  Travel or stay home?  Turkey or ham?

My Baby is 18!!!

"A" was led into the kitchen with her eyes closed....and there she saw this cake....

She read her birthday card, admired the fine rendition of a red car with the "Grease" logo on top and with every name of the main characters written on the side.

She discovered tickets for the musical "Grease" in the pretty pink box/purse.  She was so surprised and felt so spoiled.  It was all a bit over the top for her.
Thanks to everyone in the family who made this all come together to give this lovely young lady a most memorable and cherished "18th" birthday!  Phone calls from two of her brothers who are out of town, another brother came by and Jeff came back from Cold Lake just to spend the evening with her and then left again the next morning.
Happy Birthday "A".  I hope it was as special as you are, though I know it can't even come close!  You are the best!!
